November 2

I just want to go on record and say that "I LOVE MY NEW PTI GIFT CARD DIE!!"

I just love it.  I also really like the new inks.  I have played around with them and have had good luck with them so far!

Anyway, just wanted to share some gift card dies that I made.  So fun and easy.

Thanks for looking!

October 30 Part 2

This weekend, I had so much fun scrapbooking for two days.  My friend Leigh is going to the Congo on a mission trip and organized a funraising scrap day.  It was really nice to visit, scrapbook and share PTI goodies.  :)    Thanks ladies!  I was able to get a few LO's done, and thought I would share a few.

On this LO, I used my daydreamer stamp set, Wonderful words stamp set (title copied from Leigh.lol), terracotta tile felt, and Bella Blvd pp.

On this LO, I did some selective stamping to add the 'i' and the 'you'  to the title.  I used My Mind's Eye, the new Lost pp.  It was a little glittery for me, so I cut the adore out and cut the paper apart.  I added the banner using a friends Pti banner builder die and stamp, and added the fancy flourishes.

On another note, I thought I'd share this story.  My son, Corbin, had a friend over this weekend.  He tends to need his own space sometimes however, so after we had tucked him and his friend into the big spare bed downstairs we went down to check on them, and found Corbin had tucked himself into a tiny space between the bed and a big dollhouse, on the floor.  We just shook our heads.

Thanks for looking and have a great week!

October 30

Crazy how fast this month went by!!! Yikes!  It has felt super busy.  In addition to working my regular night owl shifts, I have been working some days as well, putting PICC lines in to patients.  That has been a nice change from the crazy ER/ICU shifts we have been having, but it means going in to work more.  Add that to all the other fun life stuff - school, piano lessons, violin lessons, practise time, etc - it has felt a tad overwhelming some days.  So, suffice it to say, the LO that I have been working on for the entire month of October for Leigh's PTI challenge, didn't get done until this weekend, when I had a whole two days to scrapbook!  It was so nice.  So, the challenge was to use leaves or fallish something.  So, once again, I borrowed Leigh's leaf print stamp and die and created this:

September Blog Hop Challenge

http://www.papertreyink.com/bloghop.html

I decided to participate with the PTI blog hop challenge this month.  I chose to focus on the colors of the stripes and incorported stripes into my card with colored strips of patterened paper.  I used Cosmo Cricket pp, Mat stack 4, Tranquility Trilogy stamp set, and I think it is fine linen card stock.  Thanks for looking!

September 21

well, I got my PTI goodies yesterday in the mail.  I had to work nights though, so today when I couldn't fall asleep, I just had to try out my new snowflake die.  I soooo love this die!  Looking forward to trying a few things with it.  Thought I would share a card that I made.  Not really Christmas colors, but I thought I'd try something.  I used Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate and Ocean Tides cardstock with The snowflake die and the Stylish Sentiments, Holiday stamp.  I stamped some Fancy Flourishes stamps on the snowflake in Espresso and Vintage Cream.  I wanted to add some glitter yet, but I have none. :(

Also, Corbin finished his masterpiece!  He had so much fun putting this together.  I wonder how long before pieces come off to create something else!

September 17

Guess what Corbin got today???!!!!  He earned a lot of money playing violin on the street at our local Corn and Apple Festival.  He was trying hard to earn enough for something he's wanted for years.  It was close.  I had to pay the taxes.  He didn't know it, but he would have gotten it on Thursday, except it was a bad day.  One huff too many when asked to do something.  So, I cried because I knew what he was not going to get that day.  :(   Leon wanted to wait 2 weeks to give it to him after that.  I said it really isn't a punishment if he doesn't know about it is it?  So, we gave it to him today.

Thankfully it will be hours of entertainment for both of them, and Bryn likes to organize and run the show, and Corbin is happy doing what she tells him to, so I should have some scrappy time!  It's a win win!

This thing is BIG!  It came with four boxes and each box has about 10 bags in it.  The manual (you can see in the pic) is a coil book, 260 pages.  3803 pieces.  I hope we don't lose any! Now I hope I can occasionally pull them away to get their homework done and piano and violin done!  I did some on line reading.  It took one man about 40 hours to get it all together.  Yikes!

Thanks for looking!  Have a great day!

September 16

Well it is the day after ordering some new stuff from PTI new Christmas release.  I am really excited because I do not have a single Christmas stamp or sentiment.  Pathetic I know.  I decided that it was high time to rectify that sorry state!  :)  So now, I am eagerly awaiting my goodies.

Leigh posted a sketch challenge on PTI forum.  Thanks for the sketch.  It was nice and simple and I could even do it!  I borrowed leaf prints stamps and dies from a friend. (I really have to get these), I used PTI pp turning a new leaf, cs aqua mist and ripe avocado and spring moss.  I used the half and half die and the stamp.

Thanks for looking!  Enjoy your nice fall day.

September 9

Well, welcome to a new day!  I was going to go for a run, but I got sidetracked by my new Lost and Found goodies!  (oops)  This is for Leigh's challenge to use a die cut and a stamp on a layout.    I used my half and half die, and a stamp from that set.  I admit, I only used one stamp, but it's still a stamp!  The paper was so busy, I just couldn't add any more.  lol

Thanks for looking! Have a great day, and I think i'll try to get my run in now.

This attempt is actually my favourite, which is hard to believe, cause I am just not really a pink kinda girl. But I enjoyed working with this. I used my limitless layers die, Cosmo Cricket patterned paper, my half and half die and sentiment, and an old brad I found in my stash.

Thanks for looking. Happy stamping!

Wow! Two posts in one day??? It's Leigh's fault. Here is a second lo that i'm posting for the PTI scrapbook challenge. I used Leaf Print stamp and die (borrowed from a good friend. I'm thinking I may have to get these!) The new PTI pp, Mat stack 1, and the woodgrain stamp. (loving those woodgrain stamps!)

Thanks for looking, and thanks for the challenge Leigh. Now i'm off for a couple of kidless days with the man! Gonna drag him shopping. Oh Yeah! I know he's gonna love it!

September 1

Leigh has posted a challenge on the Papertrey Ink forum and here is my first scrapbook page that I've done in about 6 months! Thanks Leigh for the challenge!

August 30

Well, it's almost back to school! Yippee!!!!!
Awhile ago, my friend Leigh posted how she was storing her brads. I'd share a link, but I'm not really sure how. lol. Basically, she made a 12x12 sheet of chipboard and poked holes in it and put all of her brads on one sheet. I loved the idea, and have wanted to do it for a long time, but never got around to it. Today I was thinking to myself that it was time to do something about the 10 packages of brads I had and was going to do what Leigh had done. Then, I started thinking some more (and the smoke started coming out of my head as the gears tried to turn at this old age. lol) and I wondered about whether it would work if I stored them like I do my stamps. hmmmm...

Well, I took a sheet of that grafix paper that I put my stamps onto and laid it on top of my grid mat that I use for scrapbooking. Then I used my paper piercer and poked holes at every 3rd small square. Then, I added my brads, some white cardstock for the back and inserted it into my Tim Holtz pocket folder!

And this is what it looks like.

I am hoping that now that I see my brads, and can lay them over top of a page, I will use them more. I really had no idea that I had 140 brads, not including the ones I just ordered today. (hee hee!)

August 29

What a weekend! We survived the annual Corn and Apple Festival. It was a little crazy. Lots of family came out for parts of the weekend, and I also worked. Corbin had a blast playing violin on the street corner and so many people gave him money. So nice and affirming for him. Bryn had a great time on the rides with cousins and friends. By the end of it all, however, I was DONE!!!!! I needed some "me" time! So, today, I sat down and made some cards. I really liked Leigh's idea of a set of cards for someone, so I made these for my mom for her birthday. I used the Turning a New Leaf stamp set for all of them, the Woodgrain stamp set, Mat Stack 5, Half and Half dies, and some sentiments, all from PTI. I hope she likes it!

Thanks for looking!

August 25

My new stash came!!!! So excited to open my box of goodies from Papertrey Ink, and so I actually sat down and made a few cards! I'm pretty sure that the Birthday Wishes one is copied from one of Leigh Penners, but I used Fancy Flourishes stamp set, and the new Think Big Favorites. The patterned paper is Fancy Pants.

The other one is using the Rhythm and Soul stamp set, the Music Backgrounds stamp set, and my mat stack 5 all from PTI.

Thanks for looking!

Make it Monday #4

Well, I couldn't sleep because I had this idea for a card swimming around in my head, so here I am making cards at midnight. Anyway, I wanted to try a very monochromatic card for the Make it Monday reverse mask. My problem is that I made it without the black border. That was just there because it didn't take a good picture on a white background. However, I like it with the border too. Which do you prefer?
Thanks for looking and now I can get some sleep.

Make it Monday - third attempt

Well, I have never done any masking of any type, so this has been a first for me! I have enjoyed trying this new technique, however, I don't have many stamps that work! So, I have been using some of my die cuts. This card I made with my PTI star die cuts, my new Daydreamer and Mendhi stamp set (thanks Leigh for letting me take yours until mine come in!) and my Fancy Flourishes stamp set.
Thanks for looking.

Make it Monday Attempt 1

My friend Leigh has been joining on the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday for awhile now, and I finally decided to join in. I used PTI Wildflower garden and Beautiful Blessings stamp sets. I masked off for my border and the leaves.

Thanks for looking.
